What had started as heavy rain during the regular rainy season ended as the first flood that personally affected me.

I have no ambitions to be reborn as a weather forecaster. However, from my accommodation, I have a good view of the marked spot. A narrow river passing beneath the road that lies between my accommodation and the local market. Of course, I couldn’t foresee what was coming. But based on previous news and experience, I had identified this exact spot as a critical point and marked it accordingly. It was Sunday 27th at around 11 am in the morning.

Ich habe keine Abitionen als Wetterfrosch neu geboren zu werden. Aber von meiner Unterkunft kann ich gut auf die markierte Stelle blicken. Dort fließt ein schmaler Fluss unter der Straße durch, die zwischen meinem Zimmer und dem lokalen Markt liegt. Natürlich konnte ich nicht absehen, was da kommen würde. Aber in einer gewissen Vorahnung hatte ich genau diese Stelle als einen kritischen Punkt ausgemacht und deshalb markiert. Das war am Sonntag, dem 27.09. vormittags gegen 11 Uhr.
