Another tour to Mukdahan. I can not remember why I went there and I don’t have the exact routing. But I probably rode along the main road number 12 from Nong Sung directly to Mukdahan where I did not stop at the Indochina Market but decided to ride along the Mekong river instead.
The one-way trip to Mukdahan is around 60 km, I rode around a bit over there and then back home – around 140 km today.
Wieder einmal ein Trip nach Mukdahan. Ich kann mich weder daran erinnern, warum ich dorthin gefahren bin noch an die genaue Wegführung. Aber wahrscheinlich bin ich über die Hauptstraße 12 von Nong Sung direkt nach Mukdahan gefahren. Dort habe ich ich aber nicht am Indochina Markt angehalten sondern bin mal den Mekong Fluss entlang gefahren.
Eine Strecke nach Mukdahan beträgt etwa 60 Kilometer. Ich bin dort etwas herumgefahren und dann wieder zurück nach Nong Sung – insgesamt etwa 140 Kilometer.

But we think it’s wrong to look for something bad. And a lack of food might cause bad thoughts.‘ Basierend auf meinen Schreib- und Lesekenntnissen bezüglich der thailändischen Sprache steht hier: ‚Wir müssen nachdenken. Im Bereich des Friedhofs des Tempels … Ruhet in Frieden.Then I left the temple and rode further along the Mekhong river … Those ferries were runnign between Mukdahan in Thailand and Savannakhet in Laos and meant for locals without another option like a car, bus or motorcycle. Besides that, the ferry crossing might save a bit of time compared to the way across the bridge which is somewhere on the left side in the far background … Dann habe ich das Gelände des Tempels verlassen und bin weiter am Mekong entlang gefahren … Diese Fähren verkehrten zwischen Mukdahan in Thailand und Savannakhet in Laos und waren als Transportmittel für die Anwohner ohne Auto, Motorrad oder Busanbindung gedacht. Und ganz nebenbei sparte diese Bootsfahrt – verglichen mit dem weiten Weg über die Brücke, die irgendwo links im Hintergrund liegt – auch einiges an Zeit.Made for … fishing? Aufgestellt zum … Fischen?At least someone offered and tried to sell some dried fishes … Zumindest bot jemand getrocknete Fische zum Verkauf an …But like the dried fishes in the boxes – everything looked very … basic. Probably charming for foreigners, visitors – but not easy for the people living there. Aber wie die getrockneten Fische in den Kartons – alles sah sehr … einfach aus. Wahrscheinlich hatte es einen gewissen Charme für fremde Besucher – aber das Leben für die Anwohner war bestimmt nicht einfach.The Vieng Khong Hotel – a bit at the outskirts of the city. Das Vieng Khong Hotel – etwas außerhalb der Stadt.My guess: A Datsun. But it could also be a Toyota or a Mitsubishi … Meine Vermutung: Ein Datsun. Aber es hätte auch ein Toyota oder ein Mitsubishi sein können …Maybe, a former guest could not pay his bill and left the car as a kind of deposit – until nowadays … Vielleicht konnte ein Gast seine Rechnung nicht bezahlen und hat das Auto als eine Art Pfand hinterlegt – bis heute.Bed & Breakfast with steak by the river – not bad. Bett und Frühstück mit Steak direkt am Fluss – nicht schlecht.But it was too early to have dinner and I had my house in Nong Sung. Aber es war zu früh um zu Abend zu essen und ich hatte ja eine Unterkunft in Nong Sung.
