Moving from Mukdahan to Samut Prakan (End of October 2011)
Between October 27th and 29th 2011 I moved most of my stuff from the village in Mukdahan to my new place in Samut Prakan.
Early in the morning of October, 27th 2011 I rented a minivan at the airport in Samut Prakan and arrived in Mukdahan in the afternoon the same day. I began to collect and pack my belongings, slept the last night in my bed there and left Nong Sung (the name of the village where I spent 18 months) the following afternoon (28th).
After a long, tiring night on the road I arrived at my new place before noon the next day (29th).
Zwischen dem 27. und 29. Oktober 2011 schaffte ich den überwiegenden Teil meines Hausstandes von meinem Wohnort in Mukdahan zu meiner neuen Unterkunft in Samut Prakan.
Sehr früh am Morgen des 27. Oktober mietete ich am Flughafen in Samut Prakan einen Minivan und kam am Nachmittag in Mukdahan an. Hier stellte ich meine Sachen für den Transport bereit, schlief ein letztes Mal in meinem Bett und brach am Nachmittag des 28. Oktobers aus Nong Sung auf. Hier hatte ich ja die vergangenen 18 Monate gelebt und gearbeitet.
Nach einer langen, sehr ermüdenden Nachtfahrt kam ich kurz vor Mittag des 29. Oktobers an meiner neuen Unterkunft an.
Ready to leave the airport towards Nong Sung in Mukdahan. Bereit, den Flughafen in Richtung Nong Sung in Mukdahan zu verlassen.Nothern parts of Bangkok were still heavily flooded at that time. Many drivers decided to head East and then further North. I was not the only one to got stuck in traffic in the mountains Northeast of Bangkok. Using 3 lanes up the steep road … Zu der Zeit waren die Bereiche nördlich von Bangkok teils stark überflutet. Viele Fahrer hatten sich dafür entschieden, Bangkok erst nach Osten zu verlassen um dann in den Norden zu fahren. Ich war nicht der einzige, der in den Bergen nordöstlich von Bangkok im Stau stand. Typisch Thai: Hier fuhr man einfach mal dreispurig die steile Straße hinauf …… although it was ment to be a single lane road either direction! … obwohl es offiziell nur eine Spur in jede Richtung gab!Even here some areas were still flooded. I already began to worry about my way back … Sogar hier waren noch einige Bereiche überflutet. Ich machte mir schon Sorgen über meinen Rückweg …Not much left from the house on the left … Nicht mehr viel zu sehen von dem Haus ganz links …The water nearly reached the level of the bridge … Das Wasser im Fluss hatte fast schon die Höhe der Fahrbahn auf der Brücke erreicht.Most items being collected already … Die meisten Dinge hatte ich schon zusammengestellt …Helpful boxes to store smaller stuff … Nützliche Kisten um kleinere Dinge zu verstauen …Next morning (28th): Ready to get loaded … Am nächsten Morgen (28.): Bereit zum Beladen …Not really ment for moving a household … Nicht wirklich gedacht um mit Möbeln umzuziehen …Actually I can’t remember if I really used it. The vehicle was packed under the roof and everything fit in tightly. Keine Ahnung mehr, ob ich die Polstermatte benutzt habe. Der Van war bis unter das Dach vollgepackt und alles passte eng gequetscht hinein.They fit easily … Die passten locker rein …Last view from the balcony. Left … Letzter Blick vom Balkon. Nach links …… and right. Bye bye Nong Sung. It was not too bad and really a new experience for me. … und rechts. Auf Wiedersehen Nong Sung. Es war nicht nur schlecht und ich habe wirklich eine neue Erfahrung gemacht.Not much left here … Nicht mehr viel übrig …I made it to Samut Prakan at around 11 A.M. Gegen 11 Uhr vormittags kam ich in Samut Prakan an.A friend came to help me unloading and bringing the stuff up to my room here. Ein Freund kam um mir beim Ausladen und dem Transport nach oben zu helfen.Maybe there are more people living in this building than in the village before … Ob hier wohl mehr Leute lebten als in dem gesamten Dorf zuvor?Not bad for just 1 tour … Nicht schlecht für nur eine Fahrt.I still wonder how it all fit inside the van … without removing the seats. Ich wundere mich immer noch, wie das alles in den Van passte … ohne die Sitze zu entfernen.Finally – in the new room. Endlich – im neuen Zimmer.I stayed here for 3 years and 6 months. Ich bin für drei Jahre und sechs Monate geblieben.Ok, not really a beautiful view from the balcony … Ja, nicht wirklich ein schöner Ausblick vom Balkon …
